THE CONFIDENCE BOOSTER

I don’t know about other girls but going natural has boost my self-confidence all the way up.I used to wear weave and braids back to back , in 2010 I remember taking my weave out and my hair was big and thick. My step sister was like “go natural go natural” and I use to look at her funny and ask her questions like ” how am I suppose to do my hair?”  the idea of going natural sounded strange to me. Even though my hair was natural I would never wear it out. The thought of doing so was so scary. I would continue to wear weaves and braids until 2013 my oldest sister cousin and sister in-law convince me to go natural so I did the beginning was rough I sucked at doing my hair I still suck till this day but I’ve gotten better. Before going natural I never thought I had any insecurities to be honest, boy was I wrong. I was constantly worried  about what people would think about me and my hair. I never knew what to say back when someone said something slick about my hair and that was the worst part. But I stick to it the more I wore my hair the stronger my confidence became. These days I wore my hair how I feel, twist out, fro, two strand twist, puff? I wear it all and I will and always snatch edges of anyone who got something slick to say.  What saddened me the most the journey was the fact I actually had insecurities when it came to my hair I just never realize cause I always wore weave or braids, and that I had to learn to love something that I born with something that grows naturally on me.  The confidence I’ve gained from going natural is probably best reward I could ever asked for. My hair is healthy and beautiful and I love it. In other words #FUCK YOUR EUROPEAN BEAUTY STANDARDS.
